{Homeschool Highlights} April 3, 2012

Oh, thank heaven for the rain that’s falling here in North Texas today! We are in bad need of rain these days.  Anyway, on to our school day…

Emma reviewed the parts of the brain with her nomenclature cards.  She mixed up the names of the lobes, but remembered everything else. We are moving on to the five senses Thursday, but I will bring these cards back out for review next week.

Logan and Isaac completed a demonstration on how to measure the height of a building based on the speed of a falling object. (Do ya think maybe I should take down my St. Pat’s Day décor since Easter is just a few days away?)

Isaac baked some cookies (Polvorones de Canele) to wrap up his unit on Mexico. They were pretty tasty!

Emma created a sketch based on the following prompt: If you were to paint a woman indoors, what would she be doing? Draw your ideas with colored pencils.  Of course, my sweet dancer drew this:

After school, we hunkered down as tornado sirens went off around us.  Luckily, we are all safe. No tornadoes touched down in my town. We are, however, praying for those who were hit.
